I would just like to point out though that this is really not an MMO and such it can be changed. It is more like some other games I play that are online and offline and can be modded. When I play those and there are problems or don't like the server we blame the modders in this case with GW it is the Devs themselves who are the modders. In essence you can whine and rant about them doing this and that.

there is a huge difference between a good thread with some valid points and arguements and what you have referd to as "spazzing" and "whining"

When people have a problem they let if be known.. now if they go in and say OMFG THIS SUCKS TOTALY BALLS I HATE IT.. then that is spazzing

but if they create a thread that holds valid points and starts a few heated debates.. then there really is nothing wrong with that and i feel people should not be labled for it..

as for me refering to people being banned.. i was refering to ingame bans being removed because people came here to say somthing about it.... do you all remember the MASSIVE ban that came a while ago... anet banned a HUGE number of people.. had those people not made a 1K+ post thread about it.. then most of the accounts would not have been found wrongly banned and reversed... but as it stands the people that posted here got an answer and alot of them got unbanned aswell... because they rose up and said somthing... would you label those people under these terms of yours?

In otherwords, the GW world and the world of many other MMORPG's is "alive" and "evolving". You are not in control of it, the powers that be are. So it's much like life. Most control is imagined and not real.

If these facts upset you, annoy you and make you angry, then possibly the world of MMORPG's are not for you. Realizing this on my own behalf and accepting it, have made for much better game play. I stopped trying to looot the weapons I wanted, saved up and bought them. It was simpler and now I have what I want. I also realized the game is just that, a game. If I stay and play I accept there will be changes, and I may not like some of them. Then it is my choice to stay or go. Yelling, trolling etc serves no point. The ONLY thing GW and other games understand is low sales. If you do not like how the game is going, do not whine and still buy the next chapter. If you do, your remarks are mute. Speak with your checkbook, not your hate. It's their sandbox, you can stay, or take your toys and go home.
Ok..first of all your characters overall power stays the same, have you noticed something called a lvl cap? Also, Guild Wars would be alive and evolving if it actually added an expansion or something, and this game is not an MMORPG anyway so why are you trying to convince yourself that it is?

Pretty valid points I'd say, main thing is that a lot of things will never stay the same from it being an online game. The developers had ideas about how things would work, and when they don't work a certain way like planned, or when something is abused, it gets changed. I don't think anyone is really in control of that.

About getting bans lifted through posting in forums... I think it was more the number of e-mails sent to support, as suggested by other forum users.

A very good post EW. You make some points that are, to me, rather self-evident, but obviously not so to many people.

I'm curious about this one. Were there any reports of this occuring? I'm not saying it couldn't happen - I'm just wondering if it did.

Maybe I'm being delusional, but it seems like anet does genuinely care about what their customers think. Many changes to the game have been introduced that are quite obviously driven by fan feedback, both good and bad. Granted, this also happens to co-incide with a good business strategy if you want to be cynical about it, but I think there's a bit more than that.

So far, none of the nerfs or game play changes have effected me. When Anet nerfed a skill I was using, I simply changed my skillbar a bit and kept fighting the good fight.

Thank goodness I'm not a farmer, I have heard that if you get into farming it can be a pretty fun way to pass the time. I'd be pissed if I had found a way to have fun and enjoy the game between campaigns and Anet had nerfed it into something you can't enjoy.

Essentially I was trying to post my thoughts about how their(gw/anet) game goes etc, and on a scale of 1 to 10 rating my worries in life, this should not be anywhere near important.

As for Anet caring or not, I didn't mean to imply one way or the other. I simply meant it's their game and they will do as they see fit, with or without input. Of course input helps, but in the end the final decision is theirs. Sometimes the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or vice versa lol

DutchGun, see the poll by Gaile, if they do as proposed, the skill hunter title will be dropped in it's palce will be regional skill hunter titles (Tyrian, Canthan, Elonian etc). and before anyone flames me, I do not have that title and willnot lose anything by it. I merely point out Gailes' poll as an example.

Lacasner, you seemed to have missed the point of the post entirely. So let me explain it to you. When Enchanted warrior said:

"Your characters overall power, and or abilities can be enchanced, reduced, their effectiveness, retarded or increased, as the game progresses."

He is saying that your character can be changed by ANET whenever they change skills, attribute lines, weapon effectiveness, etc etc. Basically the point is that CHANGE HAPPENS, prepare for it and adapt to it. So yeah, you completely missed the point of this thread.

No no I was referring to when the greens got "nerfed" and so people started selling them off and cussing anet. I understand bugs and the need to vent about them, but the scream of nerf on something blatantly obvious of being a bug... THATS Spazzing And yes making a thread and letting Anet know what was wrong so they could fix it was exactly what they should have done, however the mass amounts of people that refused to listen when told it was a bug... (That was exactly the issue I had in my head when posting that.)
And no I think I would have ranted to hell and back for getting the unceremonious ban that rocked the forums. I was around for that hun so I completely understand. Yeah that was really nasty and luckily none in my guild were affected but some in my alliance were. Sometimes freaky things happen and its ok to let anet know because if it is an issue of bug it will be sorted out - basically don't start burning your pc till you have at least most of the facts. Each update has its bugs and quirks and most of them you can roll with...... However I still feel for all those who lost pets that one time to ;_;
